In the summer of 2014 Cor Cantiamo recorded with Abbey Road Studios Grammy Award-winning engineers for its second album. This album, entitled Psallite was produced in partnership with the SDG Music Foundation. The partnership between Cor Cantiamo and SDG exists to promote the newly commissioned works that have been generated through the SDG Psalms Project.
The first recordings took place in July 2014 with Donald Fraser, Producer; Arne Akselberg and Simon Kiln, Engineers; Abbey Road Studios; and William Trafka, Director of Music and organist at St. Bartholomew’s Church in New York City. This album has received multiple positive reviews from magazines (Fanfare, American Record Guide) and leaders in the choral field, particularly noting the artistry and breadth of expression of the ensemble.
“Eric Johnson and Cor Cantiamo have put together a stunning disc of sacred and sacred-leaning repertoire that is performed with dramatic resonance and poise. The works, the composer, and the performance are all first rate.”

“There is not one second of showing off by the singers or the director. They sing every piece in every style with a commitment to musicality that never waivers. An absolute joy.”

“This is a rather wonderful album and will appeal both to people who like singing and choirs, and those who don’t care much about choirs but like nice music. It’s a rich album … meaty and heartfelt songs that were written to be performed for the Almighty. It’s a powerful CD there’s much to appreciate.”
